At Pretty Panache we’re always on hand to help you with any queries you may have. Of course we are at the end of the telephone whenever you need us, but for your convenience we’ve tried to answer some of our most commonly asked questions right here.
When should I order my wedding dress?
Although this can vary, most brides start looking for their beautiful wedding dress about a year before their wedding date. Most wedding dresses take about 4-6 months to arrive in from the date of ordering. We also advise that you leave at least 6-8 weeks for the fitting process so that the dress can be made to fit you perfectly. Bridesmaids dresses also take a similar amount of time to order.
Do I need to make an appointment to try on dresses?
We strongly advise that you make an appointment to try on dresses, especially on Saturdays, as we only have two fitting rooms. Of course if you haven’t made an appointment we will still try to help you but this cannot be guaranteed. Most appointments will usually last about an hour.
Will my dress need to be altered/fitted?
Most wedding dresses will need to be altered to ensure that the dress fits absolutely perfectly to your body. We usually recommend that you book in for 3-4 fittings to make sure that it is fitted for your wedding day. You will be required to bring the shoes and underwear that you plan to wear on your wedding day at each fitting session.
Is there an additional cost for dress alterations?
Yes, there are additional costs for all dress alterations. Dress alterations is a very time consuming and specialist job which is an essential part of getting dresses to fit perfectly to your body. The dress alterations process will be discussed at the time of your fitting so you will know exactly how much this will cost and you will be informed of what work will be done to your dress. Of course, if you wish, you can take your dress and get alterations done elsewhere.
Do you offer a payment plan?
We can offer you a payment plan to help spread the cost of your wedding dress. We require a 50% deposit on dresses before we will order them. The remaining balance on your dress can be left right up until the day you collect it, before your wedding day.
Do I get a refund if my wedding is cancelled?
All deposits on dresses are non-refundable. We would advise that you consider taking out an appropriate wedding insurance policy, this should cover you in the unlikely event of things not going to plan.
